The, almost, indestructible step

And there's the main reason this step was so tough. In the centre of the picture you should be able to make AN I-BEAM! And it's a biggy. Wow! That's some devoted step building! And the reason it was laughing at me despite the sweat dripping off. I hit this thing with everything I've learnt, 3hp angle grinders, picks, sledge hammers thrown over the shoulder with all I've got. Don't mess with reinforced 'crete is the lesson

Ouch...

Fighting the mud back, the ongoing battle. A nice view of how the building is layered

Ready to grow Special K, which I'll use to entice into the garden those hotties in red bikinis from the ads

It's gone! What's that? There's more clinker to dig out? Nope, I think you're seeing things matey...

And what's this weird pink cream doing under a step half a century old? Something about the way it's so squishy in my hand makes me want to eat it

WHEN DOES IT END!?!

All the bricks shifted to the skip, I set about the step. Expecting it to take a few minutes I was there an hour later, hitting it hard enough that chips two or three inches big were landing a few metres away

More and more rotovating

Some spade work later and my back hates me even more

First order of the day, wiring the water mains into the utility room. Pouring boiling water into the MDPE pipe, with a cap on the end, causes it to go all soft and maleable
